A very Merry Christmas to you

Wherever you are in the world I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas! It's been another year of searching through the thesaurus for alternatives to using unprecedented! We’ve been in, out, on, off, here, there, can, cant, fly, don’t fly… and that’s just me!  But here we are! It’s Christmas Eve, presents are being wrapped, music is on full, mince pies and mulled wine to hand, my elf suit is back on it’s hanger and my studio is a relaxed and a calm place again! (well apart from the obvious Santa Baby playlist blasting!).  A very large and heartfelt thank you for all your support, encouragement, enthusiasm and custom this 2021. You have made this very tricky...

Super sunshiny September

Greetings from a garden bench where I'm enjoying some rare and wonderful sunshine! I have to write this quickly in the hope that our summery September continues... What a month already...just as my knees were turning blue and I had hauled out my winter clothing...ta-dah! Summer decided to make an appearance (you can thank me later). So it's back on with the sandals, sunscreen, straw hat and, of course, lashings of sparkling silver. My jewellery is currently showing as part of the Secret Severn Art Trail in Footprints Gallery, the main exhibition space, and at the open studio space of Jan Park Art. The show is positively basking in this glorious sunshine and runs until Sunday 12th September, so do...

Super Summer!

We've had some great weather and my sparkling silver is getting its chance to shine in the sun!  Summer sports are in full swing and soon I'll be glued to the Wimbledon tennis coverage with Pimms and strawberries and lashings of cream at the ready. Some of your grander holiday ambitions may now have been traded for a local creek with/without paddle. Fortunately there is an abundance of lovely local creeks, streams, rivers, lochs, lakes and seas to explore, accompanied by wine and song and (I hope) glorious sunshine.  I am thrilled to have managed to exhibit at three wonderful outdoor face-to-face events so far this year and intend to keep making and carrying on calmly into the future, so...

Stretching our wings again

Imitating a newly emerging butterfly (albeit a rather well-fed one), we gingerly ease our way outdoors and spread our wings. Invoke dulcet David Attenborough-esque tones (and yes, I did watch the entire series of the BBC's Springwatch this year), lambing live, etc….  Adapt, wash hands, walk, count blessings, freak out, wash hands, walk again, embrace what is, declutter, panic, wine, zoom…more decluttering…and a bit more wine! I think that covers it for my major activities over the last few months.  But now it's full speed ahead here at Sue Chadwick HQ! I'm thrilled to say that my jewellery suppliers and the London Assay Office are back in business and moving carefully and safely at their new speed.  It feels so...

Greenhouse capers

I’m very fortunate to have a talented landscape gardener, Sally, as my neighbour. Not only does her garden provide me with lots of joy and inspiration (see previous newsletter images) but she also has the cutest greenhouse containing these luscious, fragrant tomatoes. I couldn’t resist a little late summer Sue Chadwick Silver and fresh veg fashion shoot... We experimented with using the fine crop of manly marrows as props...but I don’t want to be blocked on Facebook for raunchy imagery, so we decided to stick with the plump tomatoes instead! Too much information?! Happy salads and silver,   🍅 x Sue Modelling today are the Zebra cuff and pendant, Twig rings, African Fence ring, Falls ring, Monsoon pendant and Msasa necklace.
